Author's Notes: This is my opinion and not to offend any other writers but I consider Aero Girl and Startrails68 in the top 5 of all the JAG fan fiction writers available today. (One of my other top 5 writers, is semi-retired.) So, this series (I hope) is totally dedicated to them.
Author’s Note 2: I’ve changed the rating of the last two chapters to ‘R’ due to the theme that I’ve ventured into. Nothing graphically will be written about this (I leave that up to your own imaginations). The story doesn’t deal with, as some think that a woman must have a man in her life. It deals with the lengths that one man will go thru to ensure the love of his life is totally happy.
Author’s Note 3: Thank you Win Jan and Kate for giving up your time to ‘Beta’ read my work … Give that I write as I talk sometimes – it makes your job awhole lot more difficult.

McMurphy’s Bar and Grill
Falls Church, VA.

Loran Singer walked into McMurphy’s not knowing what to expect this evening at the Colonel’s victory celebration. She felt that she was over dressed for the occasion but she had picked out one of her favorite party dresses to wear. As her eyes adjusted to the dim lighting in the bar, she saw that all the ladies of the Nights had dressed up as well, and she wouldn’t be out of place. Looking around further, she saw Jen and Harm slow dancing on McMurphy’s small dance floor with her arms wrapped around his neck. ‘As close as they’re dancing, it would make the Pope wonder if they weren’t sleeping together.’ As the song playing on the jukebox ended, Loran saw Harm lean over and give Jen a more than friendly kiss. ‘Now, I know something fishy is going on.’ She slowly walked up to the booth where the six ladies of Alpha were sitting.

“Good Evening, Loran. We’re glad that you could make it.” Jen flashed a smile as she slided into the booth.

“I’m glad to be invited. I didn’t have any plans for this evening since I’m leaving for Norfolk in the morning to get back to the carrier. You know how it is Admiral, people think that when a carrier is in port that all the crew are off someone else, they forget that it takes everyone but the air wings to get her ready to return to sea.”

“We know since we’re part of the ship’s air wing. Do you need a ride to there?” Meg asked.

“I am planning on catching the morning helo there.”

“That means you must be at Andrews in five hours. What time do you need to report back on?” Kate asked.

“Not until 1700.”

“One of us can give you a lift down there since we’re not scheduled to do anything until the weekend.” Kathy said.

“Remember what I said, Loran … anytime you need help, we would do what we can to help you if we’re not doing anything important.” Harm assured.

“That’s too much to ask one of you to do for me … drive four hours to the docks and another four to come home.”

“Who said anything about driving? There are four pilots standing beside you or sitting around this table just itching to grab some air time.” Mac laughed as she saw Kathy, Anna, Cassie, and Harm’s faces light up when she mentioned flying to Norfolk.

“What about my luggage? It’s not like I can get it inside a Tomcat cockpit.”

“There’s a whole lot you don’t know about Tomcat’s, do you? Loran.” Anna asked. “There’s a pod that we carry when we deploy which allow us to carry our own luggage. Since the plane will not be staying over night on the ground, it will be practically empty.”

Tobias walked up to the table. “Evening folks.”

“Sir, what time do you want to take off in the morning?”

“I promised my wife that I would be home by 1700 … I guess about 1500 since you volunteered to fly me back. You know that doing that is stretching the regulations.”

“No, sir. We are required to get airtime and its up to each squadron operations to do that. We have flown other people places where they needed to go in a hurry. Does Melissa want to go too?” Kate asked.

“Yes.”

“Jen, go see if Captain Pike needs a ride as well.”

Jen got up to locate Captain Pike and returned with him.

“Hammer, Sweets just asked me if 1500 wheels-up was ok with me. You’re not considering giving me a quick way home, are you?”

“Yes, sir. Since Captain Ingles and you would have to leave here without having a drink, this is a party after all. My Alpha crew hasn’t stepped a foot into a cockpit since we landed, they are itching to get some airtime.”

“You’re not going to have RIOs on your return flight, do you know that?” Chris said.

“Not a problem there … it’s a easy trip. Beside we need to have auditions for two spare crews soon anyway especially since the RIO in Alpha 4 has the Egyptian Flu.”

“Egyptian Flu, what kind of flu is that? I’ve never heard of that one.” Chris asked.

“It’s a flu that only affects females … it turns them into mummies in about nine months.” A few people around the table had just taken a drink of their drink when Harm answered Chris’ question and they spewed it out then when they started laughing.

It took Chris a few minutes to understand the joke as it had went over his head. “Congratulations Colonel. Please let me know if there’s anything we can do for Hammer and you before or after he/she arrives.”

“Thank you, CAG. We will and the timing is perfect to allow me to make the squadron’s next scheduled trip aboard the Henry. From the scuttlebutt we have been hearing is that you will be her Skipper by then with the Captain here being her true Battle Group commander.”

“Where did you hear that rumor from?” Tobias asked not believing that he would ever wear stars.

“Captain, have you ever heard the famous CIA saying, “We could tell you but afterwards we would have to kill you?” Jen laughed.

“Too often, Sweets.”

“Well, be prepared to be sporting two stars soon for yourself with the CAG sporting one star.”

“That is great news … can you give us a hint as to when?”

“Give me a twirl on the dance floor and maybe you will convince me to sink a ship.” Jen laughed.

“You’re such a tease, Jen.” Harm said.

“And you love it … don’t ya, Flyboy?”

Jen got up and walked to the dance floor with Tobias.

“So, do you want a ride or not CAG?” Kathy asked.

“Sure, it will beat the helo any day.”

“If you give me a twirl on the dance floor and finish you last drink by 0200 … I might even let you sit in the front seat on the way down there.”

“What are we waiting for Big Red? Just take it easy of this old man.”

“What for? You’re younger than Hammer is.”

“Kathy….”

“Oh be quiet Flyboy and enjoy your brew.” Kathy kissed him as she led Chris to the dance floor.

“Meg, call the Chief and have her ready Alpha for a trip as well as Beth to warm up the COD … Mac can log time in as a co-pilot to get her time in for this month. She’ll have to fly aboard the C141B or COD every month to keep her flight time up.”

“What ‘a thinking about?” Meg asked if she didn’t have a clue.

“About a couple hours in Pax River airspace to help keep the edge.”

“You’re just itching to get some more airtime. Aren’t You? Who’s going to fly with Anna?” Mac asked.

“Kate!” Harm flashed a huge grin.

“Me?”

“Sure, why not? We’ve received permission to send two people to pilot school and two to RIO school if we had anyone interested in going. I’m offering one of those slots to you if you want your own set of gold wings that people can see.

“Mac can ask Beth if she wants one of the pilot slots on the way to Norfolk. If she takes it … that will make the 10th crew that we can send to make Maverick’s day better. Anna’s starting law school after the holidays and we need to have two back-up crews. I was thinking about Sara and Pat as the other two candidates to keep everything within the family. You three like that idea or am I asking the wrong people?”

“I think Beth, Sara, Pat, and Kate would be excellent choices to send to school.” Meg said.

“Why don’t we ask the other three right now instead of waiting until tomorrow morning?” Mac asked.

“Sure, why not?” Skates got up to hunt down the three ladies.

“What ‘a say there Kate? Wanna?”

“Sure but that’s not all that I wanna.”

Beth, Sara, Pat, Sam, and Skates walked up to the booth.

“Hi Harm, Skates said you want to talk to Sara, Pat, and me. What’s it about?”

“Beth, since Sara and you are already pilots … how would you like to qualify to fly a Tomcat?”

“Why?”

“We’re required to have two full crews to use for back-up purposes … it’s the way we set it up to allow crews to have a normal life as much as possible. Besides, we need someone to qualify as a RIO due to Mac being pregnant and not allowed to pull heavy Gs. I got a message earlier today notifying me that we were given two slots for Tomcat pilot school and two slots for RIO school. Since you are family, we offer the slots to you three before returning the slots since there isn’t any of the other officers in the squadron that ever wanted to fly on a permanent basis.”

“So, Beth and I go to get retraining and Pat goes to RIO school with who? How is that suppose to work since Pat and me are ‘air dales?””

“Me.” Kate said.

“In technical terms in order to have the Nightingales under the direct control of the President and not report directly to the SecNav. They make us a joint service unit and your Starlifter’s crew is all USAF, which makes us a joint service unit. Your crew was the only one considered as well as highly recommended by my brother-in-law.”

“When does the school start?” Beth asked.

“The schools start on Tuesday the 15th … you will have two qualified tutors with you, which will be Charlie 1 and Bravo 1. Meg, notify the Chief to prep the COD, Charlie 1, and Bravo 1 for the morning of the 14th for departure. As well as prep Bravo 3 and Alpha 1 to 3.” Harm smiled. They seemed to know the method that he had taken with everyone from the squadron that was sent for training for anything. He strived to continue to make his people better in every aspect of their careers because he saw it help the people who done the tutoring as much as the students.

“Where are Bravo 3 and Alpha 1 to 3 going?”

“How does Fallon sound to you?”

“Great!”

“Don’t worry Sam … you’ll be going as well. I really need you in Florida more.”

“No problem with that … I was hoping when I return to Fallon that I would be paired off with Natural. Since sis is expecting, I rather wait until she’s ready to go.”

“I was hoping that you would rather do it that way. Before I forget, you’ll be acting commander starting the 9th until the 13th.”

“No problem.”

“Does everyone bring their passports?” A woman at the Vacation Express Charter Service asked. They all held up their blue covered passports to show her. “Since everyone is here, let’s board the plane for Aruba.” They picked up their carry-on luggage, which was the only luggage they had and boarded the Boeing 727.

“Good Morning, Welcome aboard Vacation Express. Since there are only eight flying with us today, you are welcome to sit in first class. I’m Captain Miller and will be your pilot today.”

“Thank you, Captain.” Mac said. “How long will the flight take?”

“A little less than three hours. Will you be staying long on Aruba? So that I will know when to expect your return to the airport.”

“No, we’re just flying down there for a day. We’re going down to take care of some business matters and don’t expect it to take longer than that. We have more pressing matters here at home that need to be taken care of as well … we’ve put off chartering this flight long enough.”

“I see. Well, sit back, relax, and enjoy the flight.”

An airport limo bus pulled up in front of the town hall in town of San Nicolas. Harm, Mac, Beth, Kathy, Anna, Kate, Meg, and Jen all got out and stretched.

“Are you sure they will go along with this, Mac?” Harm asked.

“Don’t worry … I’ve got it under control.” Mac laughed as she opened the door of the town hall. She was blasted with cold air as it escaped out the door. Mac walked up to the counter to ring the bell sitting on it and saw an elderly woman rise from the chair at the only desk.

“Welcome to San Nicolas. I’m Mary Everett. How can I help you young folks?”

“Mary, I’m Sarah Rabb and have talked to you on the telephone about a few matters.”

“Yes, I remember the conversations that we had. Sarah … do you have the sum we agreed upon?”

“Yes, 10,000 US is in this envelope.” Mac handed Mary the envelope.

“Can any of you write well with a Calligraphy pen? My arthritis has been acting up and it would probably take me all day to do one very well.”

“I can, Ma’am. My name is Anna.” Anna spoke up.

“Very good, young lady. If you step over here … I’ll get out the certificates for you to start on … Sarah, how many certificates will you need?”

“28.”

Mary started counting out the certificates and continued until she got to 30 small ones and 2 very large ones.

“What surname will you be using Sarah?”

“Rabb.”

“Ok, Miss Anna … On the first one – ensure that the first name that you write down has the surname Rabb … don’t worry its why I got out a couple extras in case you make a mistake on one of them.”

Mac handed Anna a sheet of paper, which listed each couple to be married. Anna asked for a blank piece of paper to test the pen out before starting on one of the documents. After she was satisfied that she could be able to use the pen, she pulled out the first document.

“While she is finishing the first document … I will enter the names into this book.” Mary pulled out a brand new looking red cover logbook. “After I enter the names, I will place the book’s log entry number on the document, place a raised seal, and sign it.” Mary looked a little frighten for a moment there. “Would one of you be so kind as to hang this sign on the outside of the door, then lock it … we wouldn’t want anyone walking in here until everything is done. I don’t mean to frighten you but there are some of the more radical religious people who disagree with this and may try to cause problems.”

“I will, Ma’am.” Jen picked up the sign and keys.

“Here’s the first one, Ma’am.”

Mary looked at Anna’s work. “Oh my, you are good. Could I interest you with a job offer?”

“Sorry, Ma’am. But I’ve got a wonderful job now and if I took your offer … I would be separated from my husband and wives.” Anna didn’t look up to address the elderly lady, as she was steady and carefully working on the second document.

“Understandable but you can’t blame me from trying.”

Mary opened the book and turned the pages until she was about three-quarters through it. She picked up a pen and logged the information. It took Anna about fifty minutes to finish the twenty-eight certificates.

“Ma’am, what do you want me to put on this extra large one?”

Mary walked over to where Anna was working. “See this big space here.” Mary pointed at a space in the middle and about a quarter of the way down the document. “Put Rabb in it with very large letters. Now, look below the printing … see these spaces here with a very light line in it … put everyone’s first name on each space.”

“Ok.”

Mary logged the last small document into her book, placed the log number on it, placed a seal, and signed it. “Just waiting for Miss Anna to finish the large display marriage certificate.”

“How are we going to get that back home without wrinkling it or damaging it?” Beth asked Mac.

Mary smiled as she pulled out a round document shipping tube. “In this … after I place some information on it, place a seal, and sign it … I will cover it with this large piece of rice paper to prevent the ink from transferring to where it shouldn’t. I’ll place the spare blank document inside as well, so when you want to frame it – you can take the blank to the framers to get the custom size frame for your original.”

“Finished.” Anna triumphed said.

“I’m not sure if I told Sarah or not, but marriage like this is only possible right now due to the legal fluctuation the court caused with its internal bickering by overturning a case. The government couldn’t stop allowing us to perform marriages due to roughly sixty percent of the people visiting our island are here to get married or honeymooning. The only places where an actual ceremony is being allowed to be held is in the churches and they follow their religious codes, which deprives same sex or multiple couples that benefit. So, if you were hoping for a ceremony … I’m truly sorry that one cannot be performed for you. Each of you is legally married to each other ever since I signed the marriage certificate that Anna prepared for me and have them logged into this book.”

Kate looked around at each partner of hers and didn’t see anyone frowning about not having a simple ceremony. “I will speak for all of us … ceremony or not … we’re happy as anyone can be to be marrying the persons that we love with our whole heart.”

“Congratulations … you may kiss the groom and brides.”

After they had kissed everyone, Jen unlocked the door and removed the sign to hand back to Mary. “Thank you for making my dream come true, Mary.”

“You’re welcome, Mrs. Rabb.” All seven women turned their heads towards Mary, which caused her to laugh. “It’s too bad that I will miss seeing other people’s faces when that happens again.”

They walked out of the town hall. “Ladies, do we want to stay here tonight or do you desire to go home?”

“Home. I’ve got a trip to make to Texas and a number of other places to go before I go wheels-up next week.” Meg shyly said.

“What do you have up your sleeve, Meg dear?” Harm asked.

“You’ll find out after Kathy and I get back from Texas?”

“Well, you two are not the only ones that need to catch a flight?” Beth said.

“Where are you going to?” Harm asked.

“Florida.” Beth said.

“Anyone else?” Harm asked.

“North Carolina.” Kate said.

“What about you two?” Harm said as he caught the drift that what was happening with them taking a sudden trip away from their love ones had been well planned in advance of them mentioning making a trip.

“We have a small trip across the state line into Maryland.” Jen smiled.

“Do you know what they all are up to Mac?” Harm asked.

“Sure, do … but as one of your wives has already said … you’ll find out when they return from their trip.”

Harm and Mac’s Condo
**********

“Honeys, we’re home.” Kathy and Meg walked into the condo. Kate and Beth had returned home ten minutes ago. Everyone was sitting in the living room wearing his or her Nightingale tee shirt and talking. They leaned over to give everyone a kiss before disappearing down the hallway to change clothes.

“Harm, close your eyes and hold out your hands.” Mac told him. He shut his eyes as each of them raised from where they were sitting to hand Mac a legal document. When she had all six of them, she placed them into Harm’s hands. “Now, open you eyes and read what they say.”

“They’re legal documents to legally change names, he read the important part out loud: Meg Austin to Meg Rabb … Kathleen Morgan to Kathleen Rabb … Elizabeth Hawkes to Elizabeth Rabb … Catlin Pike to Catlin Rabb … Jennifer Coates to Jennifer Rabb … Arianna Restivo to Arianna Rabb. I understand that each of you are my wife but what’s the plan to get this entered into your personnel files since Polygamy is illegal in the states.

“We’re not changing their marital status … just their last names which is legal for anyone to do so if they do it thru the court system. As far as the world will know, they will still be single and that they wear a wedding ring set to keep the majority of men from making passes at them. That’s where you come into play, since you’re the Nightingale’s commanding office as well as an classifying authority since they made you the Navy’s Tomcat manager … you will take these copies to the Pentagon and place them into their files while Meg accesses the database to change the surnames … you will need to remove their records from the non-classified folders to place them into this level five security classified personnel folders for added insurance.” Mac showed him the six new classified folders he would be taking with him. “While you two are busy at the Pentagon, we will be over at Andrews getting ‘new’ name tags for everyone.”

NAS Fallon, NV
**********

Four Navy Tomcats landed on NAS Fallon’s main runway and taxied to the F-14 parking ramp. It was still a sad sight to see that they were the only Tomcats on the base for the Navy’s aerial combat school even though two of them would be leaving tomorrow for Hickam a meeting at AIRPAC.

“Harm, why did you plan our arrival here at oh-dark-thirty?” Beth asked. “I’m not complaining just wondering why?”

“What time do Pete and Charlie come to work the first day of ‘new’ classes starts?”

“At 0700 Local when the briefing starts … ah … you want to see his crews and his expression when Dice/Flame and Lobo/Tex kindly inform them that they are scheduled to attend classes. You talk about me being devious.” Beth slapped Harm on the arm as he was standing beside her with a huge grin all over his face as she answered her own question with some leading questions from him.

“Be nice dear.”

“By all means honey be nice … don’t bruise him too much. We do have an entire week to play around in sunny Hawaii.” Kathy said as Jen and her had finished their post-flight checks and saw Beth slap Harm’s arm. A few minutes later the other two crews had joined them as well.

“You ladies ready to make Maverick’s dream come true?”

“Sure am … I want to thank you for showing me that high-g maneuver just before we got clearance to land.” Cassie said as she remembered the 9-g maneuver that Harm did when she was on his six and before she could hardly blink. Harm had gotten on her six and they heard the solid tone indicating he had her locked with his guns.

“No problem … both of you will need to remember that your will need to be on almost pure oxygen ten to twelve minutes prior to trying that to prevent from graying out any. It’s 0600 local, let’s grab breakfast before Iceman starts the introduction/welcoming briefing.”

**********

“Charlie, did you see the four Nightingale Tomcats parked on the ramp?” Pete asked his wife as they were listening to Iceman giving the standard canned briefing and waited to be introduced to the ‘new’ incoming classes.

“Yes, I did. I figure they stopped here for the night since there is a meeting at AIRPAC in Hawaii starting tomorrow.”

“Ok, it had me worried that Harm may have found a way to send some more crews to school.”

“I sure hope not … you were in a foul mood for almost two years while the Nights were being cycled through here since they took pleasure in waxing your tail in the last exercise.” Charlie whispered as she gave her husband a quick kiss as he walked into the briefing room and wondered why the room hadn’t been called to attention.

Captain Pete Mitchell – Maverick walked into the room as saw Captain … no Fleet Admiral Harmon Rabb standing in front of the room with a huge grin on his face.

“Good morning Maverick.” Harm calmly said. “Charlie, I know your standing beside the door. You might as well come on in as well.”

“Morning Admiral. It was a pleasant surprise to see four of your planes on my tarmac this morning. I’m guessing that you’re on your way to Hawaii.”

“Guessing or hoping, Mav?”

“Both sir.”

“You are correct in guessing that I’m on the way to Hawaii …” Harm saw Mav release the breath that he was holding. “I though I stop here first and brighten up your day.”

“How could you do that?”

“Lieutenant Commander Puller, Commander Rabb, Lieutenant Dobb, and Lieutenant Edwards please stand up.” The four ladies stood up and turned towards Maverick. “I believe that you have meet Lobo, Tex, Dice, and Flame before.”

“Yes sir.” Maverick got a sinking feeling in the pit of his stomach.

“Since the last time we talked on the phone, you sounded disappointed about not to be seeing anyone from the Nightingales going through your school. Well, we have made a few changes to make you extremely happy for the next ten months. Have a seat Captain, you don’t look so well.”

“Yes, sir.” Pete slowly sat down into a chair. ‘I knew that we should have changed that last exercise profile when we had the chance to. He’s probably taught them every trick in the book by now.

“My wingman and I will get out of your way and let you finish your briefing. Your instructor’s and you are invited to join me for lunch at the O-club at 1100.”

“Yes sir. We will be there.” Pete said, as it was unheard of anyone ever turning down a senior officer’s invitation for anything.

“Very well, carry on with your duties.” Harm walked out of the briefing room and saw Charlie’s huge grin on her face with her shaking a pointed finger towards him.

“Gentlemen, we will teach you to fly the Hornets to the edge and survive. During the next six weeks, you will be going against the number two ranked squadron overall in the Navy. You think your good but we will make you even better. Any questions?”

“Sir, who’s the number one ranked squadron?”

“Commander Rabb can you answer the gentlemen’s question and give the reason?”

“Sir, VF-213 is the number one squadron in the Navy. Every crew member except four are flying combat aces and there are eighteen ‘Top Gun’ and one ‘Super Gun’ trophy winner crews on their 22 air crew roster.”

“You might as well tell them the name of VF-213, Commander?”

“Sir, VF-213 is the Nightingales.” Meg heard a few men moan as they heard the name of the squadron, which made her smile grow larger.

“Any more questions?” Maverick looked around the room and saw that there wasn’t. “Dismissed.”

“Don’t worry boys, the runner’s up trophy is in the ladies room. We will be gladly escort you to see it because this baby is going home with me again.” Cassie grinned as she traced her name on the plaque hanging on the back wall.

“Just as well as the one for my classes, Lobo.” Barbara said as she found her name on the other ‘Top Gun’ trophy hanging on the wall.

“Let’s go join the Admiral and enjoy lunch. The next six weeks are gonna be fun.” Meg said.

OB-GYN Clinic
Bethesda Naval Hospital, Md.
**********

“Mrs. Rabb.” The OB-Gym nurse called out as she stepped into the waiting room and looked to see who looked up. To her amazement she saw three ladies slowly rise from their chairs to enter the clinic and each were very much pregnant.

“You must have just started working here within the last month. Which Mrs. Rabb do you need to see first?” Mac asked the confused looking nurse/receptionist.

“Yes, Ma’am. I started last week.” The enlisted nurse stated as she saw that all three were wearing brass, as in officers. “Sarah Rabb is who I need to come with me first.”

The nurse got more confused as all three walked through the door.

“We’ll save you the trouble of coming back out here to escort the other two Mrs. Rabbs since their appointments are right after mine. They will be with me during my examination as well.”

“Ok, please step up on the scales to allow me to check your weight.” The nurse helped Sarah get onto the scales. “Not bad … you only gained eight pounds since your last visit here. Please sit down, so I can get your blood pressure. Is Mr. Rabb going to join you today?”

“No, he’s in Texas right now flying in an air show.”

“Ok.” The nurse turned to the other two. “May I have your names, so I can go get your records.”

“Arianna Rabb.” Anna said.

“Elizabeth Rabb.” Beth said.

“Please have a seat while I go to reception to let them know that you’re here and pull your records.”

Anna and Beth slowly sat down into the uncomfortable military chairs provided as the nurse turned to retrieve their records. The nurse returned and they got weighted and had their blood pressure checked, and then were escorted to the examination room.

“Good Morning, Sarah.” The doctor said as she walked into the room. “How are you feeling today and how are the twins treating you?”

“I feel like a beached whale, otherwise I feel fine.” Sarah said.

“Did you bring a blank tape?” The doctor asks, as she turned on the ultrasound machine to let it warm up.

“Anna, could you get the blank tapes out of my bag?”

“Sure.” Anna got the three blank tapes out and handed them to the doctor.

“Let’s see what’s going on in there.” The doctor took the warmed goop and put a huge blob onto Sarah’s abdomen. She picked up the wand and pressed against her. The ultrasound screen started showing the babies. “Good … excellent.” The doctor was commenting as she moved the wand around. “Hummm…”

“What is it doc?” Sarah didn’t like that humm the doctor said.

“What’s on your schedule for tomorrow?” The doc asked.

“Nothing, I’m currently on maternity leave right now.”

“When is Harm scheduled to return?”

“This evening.”

“Good … I want to schedule you for a cesarean section tomorrow.”

“Why?”

“It is common for multiple births and easier for the mother to go that route. It’s the reason why you have been coming in every week since you reached your seventh month point. I wanted to ensure that the babies’ lungs are developed enough to support their breathing. If I scared you, I do apologize for that.”

“No problem. I’ll be glad to get this pregnancy over with especially I’ve had to listen to Harm preach about me eating healthier food every day.”

“Good. I’ll go to schedule the delivery room for tomorrow morning and to let them know to expect your arrival. You can get dressed … Anna, you can get ready.”

The doctor stepped out of the room as they helped Sarah sit up to get dressed. Anna removed her clothes and put on the hospital gown provided for their use. As she was stepping up on the step to sit down on the examination table, the doctor returned to the room. The doctor sat down on a stool and opened Anna’s records.

“Let’s see … you’re a little over twenty-six weeks pregnant … weight gain is a little high right now … ready to see your baby?”

“Yes. I wish Harm was here.”

“Harm! Any relation to Sarah’s Harm?”

“There is only one Harmon Rabb in the world … I don’t think it could stand another one.” Anna laughed.

“Is he the father then?” The doctor asked.

“Yes, he is.”

The doctor’s face was shocked to hear that Harm was the father of her babies. From the looks of their faces, it appeared to her that this Harm was the father of the other woman’s child as well. “Is he …?”

“Yes doc, Harm is the father of my child as well … even though he’s only legally married to Sarah here … Anna, me, and the others just legally changed our last names. It’s actually funny to see people’s reactions when more than one women turn their heads or stand up when someone asks for Mrs. Rabb.”

The doctor replaced the videotape with a fresh one and started the procedure. “Anna, do you have any family history of multiple births in your family?”

“No, why?”

“I’m seeing two babies.” The doctor looked at Anna to see how she took the news that she was having twins. Anna looked extremely happy as well as scared from the news. “I want to start seeing you every week from now until its time to schedule your cesarean. Until then, I’m going to ask you to start your maternity leave. Will there be any problems with your CO?”

“There better not be since he’s the father!” Anna flatly said.

Which made the doctor shake her head trying not to think about the legal or professional problems this caused. “Ok, I’ll go get the paperwork started to put you on maternity leave. Your weight gain is a little low for twins. You can get dressed … Beth, get ready.”

The doctor left and returned to the room. She picked up Beth’s records and started to read, … “twenty-four weeks … weight ok … pressure ok … let’s take the look with the ultrasound and see how things are?” She replaced the tape and picked up the wand. “Good development … ohhhhhhh.”

“Oh, what?” Beth tried to sit up to see and saw the two huge smiles on Mac and Anna’s faces. “What are you two smiling so huge about?” Beth’s frustration was starting to show.

“Well, you never did want to be out done with anything. What that little screen tells me is that you are going to have twins as well if I seeing things correctly.” Mac said.

“I’m going to cut off his Wang for knocking me up with twins.” Beth smiled as she looked at her two co-wives.

“Don’t go that far sis … I want to have more children.” Mac said.

“Ok, I can’t even kick his six with the condition that I am current in.” Beth huffed as it made the other’s laugh.

The hostess escorted Mac, Beth, and Anna to the booth they had reserved for this evening to announce to the others how their doctor’s appointments had gone. Since it was a little early for the other three to arrive, they slide into the middle of the booth.

“Sarah.”

Mac heard someone call out her name and looked up to see Clayton Webb standing in front of their booth. “Hi, Clay. How have you been? This is Elizabeth and Arianna.”

“Hi Elizabeth and Arianna. I’ve just got back from Europe. I’ve been trying to get in contact with you, Sarah, but never have been able to contact you at work. I would have called you at home or on your cell phone but nobody will give me the number nor could I find out what they are.”

“The last time we talked … you wanted to get me involved with one of your missions. I told you then that I’m under orders never to accept a mission that you have planned or in the works and that you would have to get my commanding officer’s permission to talk to me about it beforehand.”

“Let me talk to your commanding officer then and maybe he’ll let you go on one.”

Mac laughed. “Sure you can talk to him but I don’t think you have a snowballs chance in hell to get him to approve it.”

“What’s his name, Sarah?”

“You don’t have a clue to who it is? Do you?”

“No, I wouldn’t ask you if I knew who it is. I know it isn’t AJ any more since you got married. They tell me my security clearance isn’t high enough to find out from my normal sources in the agency who that person is. Anything about you or the squadron that hasn’t been cleared by its classification manager is for level fives and above.”

“My official CO is Harm. You should have been smart enough to figure that out since you know that I’m part of the Nightingales.”

“Doesn’t that break the regulations a little bit since he’s your husband?”

“I’ll give you an answer you always give Harm or me when we asked for more information … ‘It is classified.’ And you know that you’ll never be able to get Harm to allow me to go on a mission.”

“But I really need you for this one … you possess all the qualifications that I need for it...”

Kathy and Kate walked into the restaurant to join the others. As soon as Kathy saw who was standing at the table talking to the others, she stopped dead on her tracks.

“Kathy, what’s wrong?” Kate asked, as she was suddenly concerned about her wife.

“That man standing by the table is the lowest scum bucket in the entire universe. His name is Clayton Webb and I bet you next month’s pay that he’s trying to talk Mac into a mission.”

“How do you know him?”

“Don’t want to talk about it right now.” Kathy said as she stormed up behind Clayton. As she got within her long leg distance from him, she reared back with her right leg and kicked him right in-between his legs as hard as she could, which lifted Webb off the floor.

“KATHY!” Mac shouted as she saw Clay grab his privates as he fell to the floor.

Kathy wasn’t listening to anyone, as she was livid with anger. She reached down and pulled Webb up by his expensive suit collar. “Listen here, you bastard. You will stay away from my family or I swear you will be in the same place where my twin sister is. Now, get out of my sight before anything else happens to you.”

“Can’t … walk … yet.” Webb said as he was gasping to catch his breath.

“I don’t care if you got to crawl out of here on your belly like the slimy snake you are. I warned you once that never come within my sight … I won’t give you another warning.” Kathy let go of his collar as Clay tried to stand to leave but the pain from the kick was so great that it made him collapsed back down onto the floor. Seeing this happening, Kathy not so gently gave him another kick onto his six. “I said GET!”

Clay started crawling away from Kathy as she turned to see the shocked look on everyone’s faces.

“I’m sorry …” She turned away from the table and ran towards the exit of the restaurant to find that the crawling form of Webb blocked her path to the exit. Instead of choosing another path, she stomped right over his prone body and ensured he felt the pointed ends of her high-heel shoes she was wearing for the occasion.

“Kate, go after her and make sure she gets home safely.” Mac requested. “I wonder why she did that to Clay?”

Kate quickly turned to rush after Kathy and had to use the same path she had taken to exit the restaurant. Soon Clay felt another pair of feet walk over his body as she stepped on him as well. Then he felt two more people stepping on him as he had no idea that whenever a member of the famed Nightingale Alpha flight was not at work, on base, on a carrier, or at home that the secret service had a detail following them around the town for protection.

The two male agents were amazed to have witnessed one of the women of the flight lose her cool with anyone. Before starting on this morning’s detail, they had been briefed not to interfere with anything that happened while they were on duty and also ordered to expose anybody’s film if they happened to take a snapshot of any member of the flight without them know about it. So far this morning, they had opened over fifty cameras to prevent anyone from taking unauthorized pictures of them.

~~Ring, Ring~~

“Hello.” Kate answered her phone.

“Where the heck are you? We’ve been expecting you home long before this.”

“Down in the pool house … Kathy’s trying to tear up the punching bag.” Kate looked at her wristwatch. “She’s been at it for the past ninety minutes and it doesn’t look like she’s running out of steam.”

“We’ll be right down.” Mac said as she hung up the phone.

Meg, Mac, Beth, and Anna rush as fast as they could to get downstairs to the pool house. They saw Kathy drenched with her sweat as she continued to pound the hanging punching bag. Meg slowly walked up to where Kathy could see her.

“Kathy, please stop … please …” Kathy didn’t hear her, so Meg tried another approach. “Kathy, you’re going to hurt your baby if you keep this up … I’m begging you please stop.” But Kathy kept going.

“She won’t listen to me, Mac. I’m so scared … she is going to hurt her baby if she keeps this up … I wish that Harm is here. I’ve seen him reaching her when nobody else could.” Meg slowly walked towards Mac crying.

“Come here love. It will be ok. Shush … calm down. It will be fine.”

“Meg is right Mac … only Harm can get through to her when Kathy is like this if she cannot.” Beth quietly said.

“I know … Harm where are you?” Mac closed her eyes as she tried to use her feelings to locate her flyboy. The mysterious connection between the two of them had gotten a whole lot stronger since they married and had grown by leaps and bounds after she had became pregnant. She felt that his presence was close by but knew it was impossible since he wasn’t scheduled to return for another four hours.

The door leading into the pool house busted open as the wild looking Harm ran through the door followed by Jen still wearing their flightsuits.

“Mac, what’s wrong? I’ve been feeling something was wrong for the past two hours and twelve minutes.”

“It’s Kathy.” Mac pointed at her while she was still going at the bag. She’s been at it for ninety-four minutes. Meg has tried to get her to stop but she won’t.”

“Ok.” Harm knew that Meg and Kathy were very close to each other. Each of his wives was closer to one lady than the rest of them except for Jen, who didn’t have a favorite partner, as she loved everyone equally. If Meg couldn’t get her to stop, the others had no chance in doing so.

Harm stepped into Kathy’s sight. “Scarlet, can I get a welcome home hug?”

Kathy shook her head not believing what her eyes and ears were telling her … that her Flyboy was home from Texas.

“Scarlet?” As he realized Kathy didn’t believe that he was standing there in front of her since he called her by her favorite nickname … he slowly raised his arms to indicate he needed a hug.

“Flyboy!” Kathy launched herself into his arms with such a force that it knocked him off his feet. Luckily, there wasn’t any equipment directly behind Harm and the floor was well padded with foam mats. “I’m sorry … sniff … I’m sorry.”

“Why are you crying, Scarlet?”

“I’m going to be arrested for assault and battery and …”

“And what?”

“I won’t have anyone with me when the baby is born and won’t be able to see our baby until after I get out of prison.”

“Calm down … Tell me what happened?”

“Kate and I were out shopping for some clothes … everyone had agreed to meet at the Hilton for a celebration lunch after Mac, Beth, and Anna’s doctors appointment. When Kate and I got there … that snake …”

“What snake?”

“Clayton Webb. He was at our table talking to Mac; I’m guessing he was trying to get her involved in one of his hair brained piss poor planned missions. I had warned him before to never involve another member of my family in one of those things and what would happen to him if I ever seen his yellow striped hide again. I totally lost it seeing him again, so I walked up behind him and kicked him hard in the nuts.”

“How do you know Webb?”

“Three months before I report to Pensacola to become part of the squadron, he got my twin sister involved in one of his missions … say the least, it went sour as usual … Cathy never had a chance to avoid being captured, tortured, gang raped, and finally killed after they had finished with her … he didn’t lift a finger to get her out of there when she was still alive and finally he wasn’t even going to try to bring her body home for burial.”

“How do you know all this since it is probably classified?”

“I was part of the mission as well … Cathy and I would go in undercover … stay a few days and swap out for debriefing … If it wasn’t for a SEAL going in after we learned that she was captured, her body would still be over there.”

“Where’s she buried?”

“Arlington.”

“When’s the last time you went to visit and talk to her?”

“A week before we departed for Korea.”

“That’s been too long … you should have told us before … isn’t it about time that you introduced your family to her and tell her the great news.”

“I don’t want to go there alone anymore.”

“Scarlet, you will never be alone anymore unless you want to be.”

“You sure?” Kathy looked into Harm’s deep hazel pools and looked up at the others who had huge smiles on their faces.

“Yes, we’re sure … you’re our beloved.” Mac said.

The eight family members got out of the two brightly painted yellow H-1 Hummers and followed Kathy up to where her sister was buried. As they approached, they saw an older looking man sitting beside Cathy’s gravesite, who’s marble head stone read:

[Aviator Wings]
Lieutenant Cathy Lynn Morgan, USN
Born 16 Aug 1981
Killed in Action 16 Mar 2002

“Admiral Boots!” Kathy shouted as she recognized who it was and she introduced the retired to her seven family members. “Sir, I want to thank you again for bringing Cathy’s body home.”

“No thanks is needed, Kathy. I had to do that for me as much as I had to do it for you. I’m not sure if she ever told you that she was never going to accept another agency mission after that mission was over.”

“She did but never told me the reason for that nor the reason why she accepted the mission in the first place and talked me into it as well.”

“To answer your last question … the agency has a short list of female names that have the ability to speak fluent Farsi and Russian … there were only three other names on it besides you two the last time I saw it. Since your sister was killed, I’ve had the unfortunate task of retrieving and burying two others on that list with the last one being only days before my retirement since my replacement on the team was laid up in the hospital due to another Clayton Webb screwed up mission.”

“Oh … my god … Mac, don’t you speak Farsi and Russian?” Beth exclaimed.

“Yes.”

“You must be Sarah MacKenzie then, I presume.” Robert asked.

“Yes, I am sir … but now I go by Sarah Rabb. This is my husband Harm.”

“Good to meet you again Admiral Rabb.” Harm held his hand out to shake.

“Same here, Admiral.”

Harm raised his eyebrows as Robert seemed to know who he was since Mac hadn’t informed Robert of his rank when she introduced him to him since his promotion hadn’t been released to the public yet. The only time they had meet was during one of the first meetings that Harm had with the President concerning Sam’s status.

“Don’t look so surprised that I remember who you are Admiral. I still hold a level six security clearance just like your brother-in-law, Sam.”

“Understood sir.”

“You don’t have to sir me Admiral. I’m retired and if I were still on active duty, I would be calling you sir since your name is currently number three on the list. As you know the only reason there is a list is to ensure Admirals can issue orders to others of the same rank without worrying about command issues. Since your chain of command only has three people in it and two of them are Navy Admirals, which places you on the roll as number three. If the Chairman wasn’t Navy, you would be number two. Call me Robert or Bob please.”

“Sorry Bob, old habits die hard. I’m not use to wearing Admiral strips on my sleeves, call me Harm please.”

“No problem.” Bob turned to Kathy. “Kathy, the main reason why Cathy was going to quit getting involved with the agency was that she was engaged to be married and wanted to start a family.”

“She was? To whom? She never told me that.”

“It was our secret … President Bartlet didn’t hand out the Fraternization waivers until after he heard about Cathy’s death … we had asked him to walk her down the aisle at our wedding. He said ‘Never again will a member of my SEAL team be forced into retirement or resignation in order to get married since the Navy/Marines is the only service that plays hardball with people getting married.’ Anyway, it is water over the bridge and I am still despising the day Webb walked into my office with his brilliant plan to capture Osama bin Laden. I should have listened to my gut instinct and tossed the guy out of my 3rd story Pentagon office window but no I listened to his song and dance about it served the best interest of the country and that nothing could go wrong with the plan.”

Everyone was watching the tears falling from this proud SEAL/Aviator eyes as he was talking. Each one of them felt the pain his words was causing him to feel and wasn’t sure what to do to comfort or ease his sorrow and pain.

“Colonel, I know that we just met here at my beloved Cathy’s grave … I want to ask you to make me a promise.”

“Sir, what do you want me to promise?”

“That you never ever accept a mission that Clayton Webb plans even if he swears on a stack of bibles as tall as the World Trade Centers were. Could you do that for me?”

“Is there more reasons to the request other than the mission having Cathy was a part of went south?”

“What I’m about to say will require everyone here to have level five security clearances.”

“No problem. It will be taken care of, Admiral.” Harm firmly stated. “Please tell us the real reasons.”

“After my last mission to retrieve a body from the Middle East … I went through the CIA mission database to find answers to something that had been bothering me since Cathy and Kathy’s failed mission. I went back as far as 1995 to see the batting percentages of missions which the agency would class as successful that Clayton Webb took part in. The percentage shocked the living daylights out of me, and they still allow some weasel like him to continue planning or executing missions.”

“What was the percentage, sir?” Kathy asked.

“How much do you weight, Kathy? Please don’t take offense that I asked you that question because there is a reason behind it.”

“No offense taken … before or after I found out that I was pregnant?”

“Huh … who’s the father? Congratulations … may it be a safe and happy time for you. From what I see, you don’t look like you have gained a pound from what I remember.”

“Thank you, big flirt. The doctor said I weighted 124 pounds yesterday which is more than I have ever weighed in my life and blame it on this virile man standing behind me.”

“I see but I don’t see … I was at the White House for the Admiral and Colonel’s wedding … I don’t ever remember seeing their divorce announcement. Are you ok with Kathy being pregnant by your husband, Colonel?”

“More than just ok … I’m just as happy knowing the fact that he’s also the father of Anna and Beth’s unborn children. I couldn’t ask for more love and devotion in making me happy than what this wonderful man gives me daily even when we are separated due to duty to our country.” Mac proudly stated.

“I’m glad to hear that … it does dispel the rumors floating around the beltway that you two were in the process of getting a divorce. Back to answering Kathy’s question about what is Webb’s success rate and her weight have in common. If you put a point in front of 124, you will come up with point 124, which is 12.4 percent, and it is 2.4 percent higher than what his rate currently stood at the time when I did my research into it. His basic problem is that he never has a back-up plan just in case something goes wrong with the mission … maybe one day he’ll get a clue to how to plan a successful mission … but I seriously doubt it.”

“Yes, that will be an easy promise to make since Webb will have to go through my CO to make that request … I seriously doubt that you will ever have to worry about Kathy or I being allowed to do that.”

“Who’s your CO? Because I want to personally thank him … it will be a huge relief off my shoulders.”

“The father of our babies, sir.”

“Outstanding! I see Jed understood my warning about the certain people that might want to force Harm to retire by making him to leave the squadron and that everyone would probably do the same thing. It’s nothing that the government needed to happen at this time. Now that is great news and gives me the right to go celebrate. If you folks will excuse me.” Robert stood up from where he was squatting besides his beloved’s grave. “Kathy, if you ever need anything, please don’t be a stranger.”

“I won’t Rob.” Kathy stood up and gave Rob a kiss and hug goodbye. She watched him square his shoulders and proudly walk towards his vehicle. She knelt down by her twin sister’s head stone.

“Hi sissy … it’s Scarlet … sorry it has been a long while since I visited. There’s so much to tell you that I don’t know where to start … I left with so many insecurities about my abilities to command … my squadron saw combat while we were in Sea of Japan over the Korean skies … Papa would have been so proud as you would have been … you were the only person who ever knew that I was bi-sexual and I found seven wonderful loving people to spend the rest of my life … I’m so happy that I could bust because not only that I found love … I’m going to have something that I swore to you that was never going to happen to me … I can hear you laughing about that and saying I told you would met the right guy. Cathy, this is Harm, my husband.”

Kathy held her hand out as Harm put his hand into hers. She gently tugged on his hand to have him kneel down beside her. “I wish that you could see him, Cathy … I know that you would swoon over him from his handsome looks and get soaking wet from one of his smiles … I still have a hard time believing what he does to me with a simple French kiss.”

“Hi Cathy … I’m sorry that I never was able to met you in person but I promise you that I love your sister and that it won’t be long in-between visits.”

“Lt, you can take that to the bank … I’m one of Kathy’s wives, Jen … It’s a pleasure to finally met you.” Jen knelt down beside her loved ones.

“Hi Lt … I’m Anna … sorry that I’m having a hard time kneeling … I’m a little over six and a half months pregnant. I know that I look like I’m much farther along with my pregnancy than that but there’s a valid reason for it … we found out today that I’m having twins.”

“Oh, when are you going to tell me, the father, the wonderful news?” Harm got up to help Anna kneel beside the grave.

“Thank you love. I was going to surprise you later this evening after supper.”

“Hi Cathy, I’m Sarah or Mac … another one of Kathy’s wives and pregnant as well with twins. The doctor wants to me in the hospital tomorrow morning for a cesarean section … she says it is safer for all concerned by doing that. I’m glad that my flyboy is home to hold my hand through the process … the delivery room will be crowded with my wives as it is.”

“Harm, help Mac and Beth kneel down here please.” Kathy asked.

“Yes dear.”

“See sis … got him wiped already.” Everyone laughed as they saw Harm’s expression at Kathy’s comment to her sister.

“Sure I’m whipped … what ‘all expect since I have seven wives who give me orders what to do … don’t take it the wrong way from the way I said that … I wouldn’t change a single moment we have been together.”

“Hi Lt … I’m Beth and going to call you sis since Kathy is my wife. As you can see, I’m very pregnant myself. It has me confused somewhat is to why Meg, Kathy, and Jen are not this way as well. They might change their minds once they hear the news the doctor gave me today … this virile man we call a husband will have his hands full with three sets of twins in the family.”

“Twins?” Harm asked.

“Yes stickboy … just be glad that Beth isn’t in condition to do what she wanted to do to you this morning when we found out.” Mac laughed as she saw the quick flash a fear run across Harm’s face.

Kate and Meg knelt down and introduced themselves to the Lt. After Meg had finished, a surreal light surrounded the eight family members and each would swear with their last breath alive they heard a voice saying this:

“I welcome each of you into Kathy and my life … we had a hard time growing up and were as close as two sisters can be … closer than two siblings should have been according to the majority of people. I can rest in peace now knowing that she has finally found people to fill the void my untimely death has caused her. I have seen the deep love that each of you have for my Scarlet and charge each of you to give her as much love as she gives to you, My beloved brother-in-law, I see the total love that you give to each of your wives and my Scarlet was right about how I would feel about you. Take care of these wonderful precious women in your life.”

After the voice had finished talking, each felt someone kiss them as well as a moan after it appeared to them that Harm was kissing someone they couldn’t actually see. Harm stood up to help each of his wives stand and gave them a hug/kiss. From that point on every woman would moan whenever she French kissed her husband.

Fleet Admiral Harmon Rabb sat in the patio furniture smoking a cigar and sitting on the landing of the building thinking about the events of the past few years since the foundation of ‘The Squadron’ and the dream the former President had envision for them. He was allowed to smoke a single cigar after bringing home the newest additions to the Rabb clan.

The entire crew roster but Alpha Flight had changed due to personnel transfers. Beth O’Neil and Kate were now part of the active squadron as the Bravo flight leaders. The main reason why the roster changed was that the Navy had twelve active duty carriers available for deployment to any place in the world. He didn’t count the five carriers used for Homeland security. On these twelve carriers, there were now twenty-four F-14 Echo Tomcat squadrons – out of that number, sixteen of these squadrons were now commanded by former members of the squadron as well as a former member sitting in the AIRLAT commander’s chair.

Harm and Beth was no longer held the title of being the only single holder of the ‘Super Gun’ trophy as Ace/Slick, Big Red/Sweets, Natural/Dino, and Frisky/Bluebell were added to the roll. He pitied the ‘Top Gun’ instructors to have to face two crews from the Nightingales since they restarted sending crews to school as well as the other pilots in the classes. Even Beth O’Neil-Rabb had won the famed trophy as well as Sara MacKenzie, which had sent Maverick into a furious six chewing on his instructors trying to find the reason why an ‘air dale’ had kicked their sixes so soundly. Sara had finished the final exercise with 11 kills only due to her gun had jammed during that final flight, which prevented her from waxing Eric Mitchell – Texas’ six. The Nights had sent thirty-six crews to NAS Fallon and brought home the same number of the famed trophy. He was expecting two crews home tomorrow afternoon and hoped that they had continued the tradition the squadron had set. They still had eight more crews to send there before giving Maverick a reprieve for a little bit.

Harm had just about finished his cigar when he heard the elevator bell sound. He watched the doors open to see Beth O’Neil-Rabb, Loren Rabb, and Mac get off it carrying three videotapes.

“Hi Honeys. How did your doctor’s appointment go?” Harm couldn’t go with them due to their appointments was at the same time Jen and the quads were being released from the hospital.

“Don’t honey me, Flyboy.” Mac spat at him.

“What did I do wrong this time?”

“I should have never agreed to get pregnant this soon especially with you being the father.”

“Why is something wrong with the baby?”

“No, nothing is wrong with the baby. You need to change the y into ies for the correct question.”

“Babies?”

“Yes but there are three of them this time.” Mac slapped him on the arm.

“It’s good that he’s sitting down. I’ve never dreamt in my entire life that I would ever to be pregnant with a single child but you and I produced twins. The others told me not to forget my pill and I cannot for the life of me remember missing taking one.” Beth said.

“Loren, why are you so quiet?”

“We’re having twins as well.”

“Ladies, let’s go inside and talk to the others to see if they want to take a chance in getting pregnant again by this studmuffin again. If they don’t, we’re dragging his six to the doctors to get cut.”
